Shop cleaning protocol

Shop Protocol

  • Max number of people in the Shop (20) depending on the staffing and health/safety regulations
  • Masks must be worn at all times (Nothing dangling)
  • Hand sanitizing will be required before entering the Shop
  • All tools used, will be returned to one of two tables labeled TOOL RETURN for sanitizing purposes-All tools will be sanitized by a Shop employee before returning to circulation
  • All work will stop every 3 hours for sanitizing of high traffic areas and tools
  • Prior to opening and end of day sanitizing will happen daily
  • Sanitizing wipes will be provided in each machine room at all times for student use

Fab Lab Protocol

  • ALL submissions will be digital
  • Laser cuts will be submitted through the new web interface on the Fabrication Workshop landing page
  • 3d prints will be submitted through the new web interface on the Fabrication Workshop landing page
  • Routing jobs will be submitted though the new web interface on the Fabrication Workshop landing page
  • Fabrication drop off and pick up will be located outside the front door to the Shop
  • File help is available by Zoom in 30 minute time slots (on the new FW landing page)
  • Help sessions will be available during business hours
  • Help sessions must be scheduled by end of prior business day
  • All machine controls will be sanitized every 2 hours
  • ONLY student assistants will be permitted to enter the Fab Lab

Computing Lab Protocol

  • Max number of people in the computer lab at one time (1)
  • The computer lab entrance will be through the side door to keep students from entering the Store
  • Sanitizing wipes will be provided in the lab for each student to wipe down the work space before using

Store Protocol

  • Fabrication Workshop SA, will be operating the Store (No students will be permitted entrance)
  • Floor markers will be places on the floor to call attention to social distancing at 6 foot separation
  • Single direction traffic patterns will be in place with ENTER and EXIT arrows and signs
  • Hand sanitizer will be permanently stationed at the front door of the Shop and Store
  • Campus Cash ONLY
  • Only One Shop employee will work the Campus Cash Register and iPad for Inventory per day
  • All door handles will sanitized before the Store opens at 9am and again every hour
  • Stools will no longer be provided for students to gather at the front desk while waiting
