Connecting to the share drive (Windows)

Read only access from on or off-campus

  1. Open the share drive in your web browser.
  2. When prompted for a username and password, enter ad\UBITName and your UBITName password.

Map the share drive to your personal Windows device

On-campus

When connecting to the share drive from on-campus, you must be connected to Eduroam or UBSecure wireless network.

Off-campus

When off-campus, you must first connect to the internet and the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client.

  1. Open a File Explorer Window, right-click “This PC” and select "Map Network Drive."
  2. Select “S:” from the drop-down menu if available, otherwise choose the letter you wish to name the drive.
  3. Enter \\itorg.ad.buffalo.edu\ubfs\collab\archplan\share in the Folder field.
  4. After you enter the drive information, enable the "Connect Using Different Credentials" box, click finish, you will be prompted for credentials.
  5. Next, enter your username as ad\UBITName and use your UBITName password. If the domain field shows as anything other than "AD" you forgot the "ad\" or you need to change the login credentials you are logging in as (by clicking the box below the login info that reads "use other credentials.")

Once correctly connected the contents of the drive should open in an explorer window. It is likely that when you first log onto your computer you receive a warning that states "Could Not Reconnect All Network Drives" which is normal as Windows may attempt to connect to the drives before finishing connecting to the internet. Once connected to the network, simply click on the drive, in file explorer, to access.
