To map the share drive to your personal windows device, follow the instructions below:

When connecting to the share drive from on campus, you must be connected to eduroam or UBSecure wireless network. For instructions see:

If off campus, you MUST be connected to the internet as well as the cisco anyconnect VPN client (see:

  • Once connected:
    • Windows 7: click start à right click "computer" à select "map network drive".
    • Windows 8 / 8.1: From the desktop view, right click the file explorer icon on the task bar (looks like a manila folder) a select "map network drive".
    • Windows 10: click start à right click “File Explorer” à select "map network drive".
  • Select “S:” from the drop down menu if available, otherwise choose the letter you wish to name the drive.
  • Enter \\\ubfs\collab\archplan\share in the Folder field.
  • After you enter the drive information, enable the "connect using different credentials" box, and click finish, you will be prompted for credentials.
  • When this happens you MUST enter your username as ad\UBITname and use your UB password.  If the domain field shows as anything other than "AD" you forgot the "ad\" or you need to change the login credentials you are logging in as (by clicking the box below the login info that reads "use other credentials").  Once correctly connected the contents of the drive should open in an explorer window.
  • It is likely that when you first log into your computer you may get a warning that states "could not reconnect all network drives" which is normal as Windows may attempt to connect to the drives before finishing connecting to the internet.  Once connected to the network, simply click on the drive in file explorer to access it.
