    Alex Schwartz, professor of public and urban policy at The New School, is UB's 2025 Will and Nan Clarkson Chair in Affordable Housing. His research focuses on housing and community development, including public housing, affordable housing programs, mixed-income housing, and fair housing.

    The lecture will discuss the trajectory of Gluckman’s career, from the early influence of the industrial infrastructure and cultural institutions of Buffalo to design/ build of his college years to a serendipitous engagement with minimalist art on his arrival in New York City in 1976.

    David Benjamin, Founding Principal of The Living and Associate Professor at Columbia GSAPP, will present selections of his recent work at the intersection of biology, computation, and design. Combining research and practice, he explores new ideas through prototyping.
