Peter Murad, AIA, AICP.

As a Principal at Architectural Resources (A|r), Peter leads the firm’s higher education and urban design practice. Throughout his 30-year career, he has made significant contributions to the profession as an advocate, educator, and designer, shaping public architecture across campuses, historic structures, civic buildings, and urban districts statewide. His work includes multiple AIA award-winning projects, several of which are for the University at Buffalo.

Since joining A|r in 1998, Peter has been instrumental in the firm’s growth into a 70-person practice with offices in Buffalo and New York City. As an alumnus and former adjunct instructor of UB’s School of Architecture and Planning, he continues to participate with the School through both design critiques and mentoring emerging architects and planners. Many of A|r’s professionals are UB grads, who began their careers under his guidance.

As head of A|r’s Higher Education Studio, Peter has influenced the physical and academic landscape of more than 25 institutions across New York State. He has led comprehensive campus master plans and designed next-generation learning environments—from academic commons and libraries to classroom buildings, research spaces, and student unions—specializing in sensitive, student-centered environments that foster collaboration and academic success.
