Students build Elevator B, a 22-foot tower and home for bees in Silo City, a cluster of grain elevators along Buffalo's waterfront.
  • Why Architecture in Buffalo?
Our program will prepare you to see the full implications of what architecture does for the built environment, by proposing future forms of habitation that make aesthetic and cultural contributions to society and inspire social imagination.
  • Degrees
Our program offers comprehensive preparation for practice and licensure designed to highlight the commitment to professional and public service.
  • NAAB Accreditation
In the United States, most state registration boards require a degree from an accredited professional degree program as a prerequisite for licensure. The University at Buffalo is the only campus in the State University of New York system to offer the accredited professional master of architecture (MArch) degree.
  • Professional Licensure Disclosure
New York State prides itself in the high quality of its licensed and certified professionals. For the protection of its citizens, each license and certificate has requirements that individuals must meet in order to be licensed or certified in New York State. SUNY’s academic programs leading to licensure or certification are carefully designed to meet and exceed these State requirements. This is a role SUNY plays in protecting the public. Other states frequently have their own requirements, so if your goal is to practice in another state, this disclosure will help you check to see what that state requires.
