The Restoration and Renewal of Hayes Hall
Learn how your support can advance the restoration of UB's historic Hayes Hall, to open in 2016 as a state-of-the-art learning facility for architecture and planning.
Combining a complete restoration of the building’s exterior with reimagined interior spaces, the project revives an iconic landmark for UB and the region and creates a flexible, dynamic learning environment for future architects and planners. From maximizing daylighting to sourcing reclaimed wood, the project aims for LEED Gold Certification and raises the bar for sustainable building practices at UB.
The renovation is the largest-ever in the history of the circa 1870s local landmark, home to the Buffalo School since 1977. The project has entered its final phase as finishing touches are made to the interior. The Buffalo School will reoccupy the building in 2016.
