Kenneth S. MacKay, AIA has more than twenty years of experience in teaching architectural design studios, professional practice and building systems integration.
A practicing architect who has won several design awards for completed structures, he is also past president of AIA Buffalo/WNY and past board member of AIA New York State. MacKay received his professional degree in architecture from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University. He is the founder and owner of Kenneth MacKay Architecture. Both his built projects and his scholarly work focus on natural and artificial light, building systems integration and the role that each of these play in generating form and space. He was involved in the development of the construction technology and building systems integration elements for the US Department of Education Fund for Post Secondary Education Grant: Building Literacy – the Integration of Building Technology and Design in Architectural Education.
