Peter F. Hunt is chairman and CEO of Hunt Real Estate Corporation. Under his leadership, Hunt Real Estate Corporation’s combined sales volume has risen to over $1.8 billion.
Since 1984, Mr. Hunt has founded Devere Mortgage Corporation, a licensed mortgage banking firm, Hunt-Vanner Agency, and Hunt Insurance Agency, general insurance agencies, Realty Express, a fee-for-service real estate brokerage, The Realty Club, a membership organization supplying homeownership services, Fisher Homes, a fine homes builder. In 1992, Mr. Hunt acquired a title agency and formed Network Title Agency of New York, and in 2003 acquired Hunt Commercial Real Estate Corporation. In March 2001, Hunt Real Estate expanded into Rochester, New York through the acquisition of Judy Columbus Real Estate and Relocation and has since acquired six additional firms in the Rochester Market, opened new offices in Syracuse and acquired in December, 2008, First Properties also in Syracuse to become Central New York’s dominant real estate Brokerage. In January 2010, the Firm entered the New York State Capital District and now operates 6 branches there. Hunt Real Estate Corporation also operates two branch offices in Phoenix, Arizona. The Corporation joined the ERA system in March, 2002, now operating over 40 residential sales offices as Hunt Real Estate ERA in Buffalo/Niagara, Rochester, Syracuse, Watertown, Saratoga and Phoenix, and three commercial offices in New York State.
Mr. Hunt represents the third generation of family members who have continuously operated the business since its founding in 1911. He is a life-long resident of the Buffalo Niagara Region of New York State, where he is active in the community. He is a graduate of Amherst Central High School and St. Lawrence University (BA in Government) where he now serves as a trustee. In 2015 Mr. Hunt was awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Daemen College where he had served as chairman of the board of trustees for 10 years. Mr. Hunt is married with four children and most recently four grandchildren.
