Mr. Dewart is the President of Seneca Development & Management Corporation and has been actively involved in real estate development and management since 1968. His firm has been responsible for the development, construction and ownership of light-manufacturing and distribution warehouse facilities throughout Western New York. In the 1980’s, Alan’s company spearheaded the redevelopment of Buffalo’s Theatre District. He also serves as a consultant in many aspects of real estate development.
He has served as Vice President of the not-for-profit Buffalo Place, Inc. which manages Buffalo’s mile long light rail pedestrian mall and also as a member of the Regional Center Plan Advisory Committee and as a past Director on the Convention and Tourism Bureau. Earlier in his career, he was employed by New York State Urban Development Corporation as Director of Marketing and Residential Development at its Audubon New Community in Amherst, New York. He also operated a homebuilding company constructing and selling upwards of one hundred homes annually in Erie County.
He holds an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and is experienced in real estate development, financial feasibility analysis, management, and syndication. He received a B.A. in Economics from Middlebury College.
