Architecture Professional Resources

UB Architecture supports students and alumni with career development and placement services designed to help them develop, evaluate, and implement career, education, and employment plans. Our architecture-specific support includes guidance on internships and job searches; portfolio development; resume and application materials; interview and presentation preparation; and connections to employers and alumni through school and university resources. Students and graduates can access job and internship listings through UB’s employment platforms, and we regularly share architecture-specific opportunities, events, scholarships, and professional development resources.

Career exploration and networking are advanced through ongoing programming such as alumni-led talks and Q&A sessions (including the Perspectives series), portfolio and résumé reviews, mock interviews and practice critiques, employer info sessions and recruitment events, and regional and national career activities. Professional pathways are further supported through licensure advising, including NCARB, AXP, and ARE guidance. Current students are emailed opportunities directly by Elaine Chow, AIA (eychow@buffalo.edu), UB’s Department of Architecture Licensing Advisor and Director of Career Development, and both students and graduates are invited to join our regularly updated LinkedIn group where we share events and opportunities; if you have not yet been added, please email Elaine Chow.
