2023 Spring Public Programs

The public lecture series for the 2022-23 academic year is dedicated to the entwined, even hopeful, themes of Recovery/Reclamation.

Recovery / Reclamation

The racially motivated shooting at the Tops supermarket on Buffalo’s East Side in May of this year highlighted the local, national and global implications of structural bias. In response, we are engaging a range of speakers who address the subject of recovery and reclamation through their work in an effort to place this recent tragedy within a broader history and perspective.

How can we respond constructively to events motivated by institutionally-reinforced discrimination?

This series aspires to catalyze restorative thinking throughout the school and its expanded community.
