UB's School of Architecture and Planning features the work of over 45 faculty members, researchers, and their collaborators in the Spring 2025 exhibition, titled FRAME/WORKS, on view in the lobby of Crosby Hall on UB's South Campus from March 24th to April 19th 2025. Educators from both the Department of Architecture and Department of Urban and Regional Planning were prompted to frame their current work, research, or practice as a question, illustrated through an accompanying image and caption.

Exhibition Opening | Wednesday, April 9, 2025 | 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. | Crosby Hall Lobby

Frames, whether physical, metaphorical, or ideological, provide boundaries, perspectives, and contexts. They can enclose, define, or liberate. Work, in turn, speaks to the processes, labor, and systems behind creation. Together, the exhibition FRAME/WORKS explores the literal frameworks of construction, the conceptual or theoretical frames that influence architecture and urban planning, and the collaborative work that can bring these visions to life.

The exhibition encourages visitors to reflect on the visible and invisible “frame/works” of our disciplines, challenging how we see, build, and imagine our environment and communities. How do frameworks shape the world we live in? How might re-imagining them create new possibilities?
