As the built environment professions mobilize in new ways on the complex challenges facing cities today - from the climate crisis to critical shortages in affordable housing - we imagine all that's possible when we work together. We invite you to share your ideas, get involved, and join our movement to advance a more equitable, resilient and vibrant built environment for all.

As we step into the next half century for the School of Architecture and Planning, we stand on a more than 50-year foundation of innovation and impact built together with our community. In the spirit of the plus, we’re deepening our connections to community with new programs and resources for the alumni and friends who inspire and support us.

Lauren Turner.

Meet our new alumni officer

Lauren Turner | Assistant Director, Alumni and Constituent Engagement

Lauren joined UB's Office of Alumni Engagement in March 2022 as assistant director of alumni engagement for the School of Architecture and Planning.  As our designated alumni liaison, Lauren helps connect alumni to the life of the School and UB's global alumni network through regional programs, identity-based affinities and student engagement. "Whether it is serving as a guest critic, attending lectures, setting up a happy hour, or even just grabbing a cup of coffee, there are countless opportunities to stay connected and stay bold. This is just the beginning!"

Recovery/Reclamation lecture series.

Fall 2022 Lecture Series: Recovery/Reclamation

The public lecture series for the 2022-23 academic year is dedicated to the entwined, even hopeful, themes of Recovery/Reclamation. The racially motivated shooting at the Tops supermarket on Buffalo’s East Side in May of this year highlighted the local, national and global implications of structural bias. In response, we will engage a range of speakers who address the subject of recovery and reclamation in an effort to place this recent tragedy within a broader history and perspective.
