Explore an evocative collection of historic and newly built architectural elements created in collaboration with students from UB’s Department of Architecture under the guidance of Dennis Maher. Through wood and plaster fragments, the exhibition reinterprets Buffalo’s rich architectural past while envisioning new ornamental possibilities.
The wooden pieces—ornate Victorian-era details salvaged from Buffalo homes—are studied, replicated, and transformed into new compositions. The plaster works reinterpret elements of The Assembly House’s Gothic-inspired ceiling canopy, breathing new life into its intricate forms.
This evocative assemblage of architectural fragments bridges time, recovering the artistry of the past while imagining new ornamental possibilities for the future.
