Dawn Aprile (MSRED '17)

She has worked with national and regional organizations such as: Wal-Mart, Pizza Hut, HSBC, Steuben Bank & Trust Company, Community Bank, Burger King, Tim Horton’s, Autozone, Farmer’s Service Agency, Dormitory Authority of New York, UPS, Metro Mattress, Pathstone Corporation, DePaul, Verizon, AT&T, Subway, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, ESL Federal Credit Union, H&R Block, Allergy Asthma & Immunology, University of Rochester Medical Center, and Kaleida Health for the sale or lease of company-owned properties.

Dawn provides consulting in property visioning and lease/sale negotiation for select property owners and businesses. She has provided value-add for the following: lease review and business expansion strategy for Joe Squared, Baltimore, MD; property management transition for investment group owners of a hospital and medical office building complex in Portland, ME; financial modeling and visioning for owners of a 10-story building located in the central business district of Rochester, NY; negotiations for the sale of a large-scale retail development located on a portion of a 120–acre parcel in Geneseo, NY for out-of-state owners; and owner representation for national site selection request for proposals in Livingston County, NY. Dawn’s experience includes development and general contracting for a 23-lot single-family home subdivision.

Active in both the Greater Rochester community and her profession, Dawn has served as adjunct professor at St. John Fisher College, past president of the Rochester Home Builders Association, past chair of the Finance and Operations Committee, and founding member of the Construction Industry Foundation. She is a past Chair and member of the Livingston County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, SUNY Geneseo Community Partners, past advisory committee member for Five Star Bank, and member of the following associations: Women Presidents' Organization, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Urban Land Institute, and Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce.

Dawn served on the Livingston County Economic Development Strategic Plan committee and the Village of Geneseo Main St. Design Guidelines committee, and volunteers her time on committees for Livingston County United Way, Foodlink Forks & Skis, past board member for St. John's Foundation, and mentors UB real estate graduate students. 

She has earned recognition in the industry including: Key Bank Women’s Achievement Award nominee; President’s Choice Award by the Rochester Home Builders Association; Leadership Livingston graduate; NYS Empire State Development Build-Now NY Multi Tenant Business & Technology Park Award; and NYS Empire State Development Shovel Ready Certification Award, UB capstone project selected by M&T Bank for site development presentation, TED talk speaker at the Women’s Summit for Rochester Institute of Technology, and award recipient of a Market NY grant for her latest venture, the development of an outdoor resort “Naturluxe & Stars” at Watkins Glen, NY opened in May 2021. Naturluxe & Stars was featured as one of the top 35 glamping resorts in US News and World Report, June 2022.

Dawn holds a M.S. degree in Real Estate Development from the University of Buffalo, and a B.S. in Applied Arts and Science from Rochester Institute of Technology
