A 2025 graduate of the M.Arch. program at the University at Buffalo, Sriya’s professional journey has taken her through diverse internship experiences across the Gulf, India and Los Angeles. Her experience with architecture firms, owner’s representative firms and contracting firms has given her a perspective on three distinct sides of the industry. During her academic years, she also served as the lead editor for Intersight 27.

Recently awarded the 2026 AIA Emerging Professional Grant, she has also continued to advance her knowledge of sustainability through her LEED, WELL, CPHC and LFA certifications.

She currently works as a design coordinator at HDR, where she pursues her passion for health care design.

Her session will explore navigating the internship and job-search landscape, making the most of time in school, and preparing for certifications and grants. She will share lessons learned and insights from her own experiences along the way.

Ed Kowalczyk is a senior architect at Jones Petrie Rafinski in South Bend, Indiana, where he has worked for 14 years. As a project manager, he has a wide range of experience in commercial architecture, including municipal, sporting, recreational, industrial and transportation projects. He has designed an airport car wash, police station/town hall, rural library and community center in South Bend, Indiana.

During 15 years at a previous firm in Mishawaka, he designed other historic projects, including a train station converted into an office building in LaPorte, Indiana, and a historic museum in Marshall County, Indiana. He is heavily involved in AIA and has served as former president of the Northern Indiana chapter and former president of the Indiana chapter.

Eric is an account director and principal whose work spans Gensler's Financial Services, Sciences and Building Transformation & Adaptive Reuse practice areas. With a collaborative approach to working with project teams, Eric applies his passion for design, client relationships, project management and quality assurance to all aspects of a project to deliver a high level of design and service to his clients. As a client relationship leader, Eric develops and leads initiatives for Gensler's Northeast region, with a focus on nurturing relationships and supporting the firm's client relationship leader pipeline through training.

Eric is a member of AIA and a LEED-accredited professional, who is passionate about sustainable design with in-depth experience using the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED rating systems for interior construction projects. He has participated in events and panels on LEED strategies, highlighting the environmental and financial benefits of sustainable design. Eric leads Gensler's involvement and sponsorship of the Big Projects Studio collaboration with the University at Buffalo School of Architecture and Planning. He holds a bachelor's degree in environmental design from the University at Buffalo and has architectural licenses in Connecticut and New York.
