Through this three-year program, you will earn an Master of Urban Planning (MUP) degree and a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree.
This collaborative program trains professionals to have expertise in creating healthy places and communities. Graduates are prepared for a variety of professional roles in public service, health organizations, and consulting firms in planning and public or environmental health.
Our MUP curriculum requires 52 graduate credits. The program is built around a core curriculum, general electives, a planning studio, a departmental colloquium, and a culminating professional thesis or project.
The MPH curriculum will provide a comprehensive understanding of public health philosophy, as well as the practical knowledge and skills needed to address current and emerging public health issues. You’ll complete a minimum of 43 credits, including foundational and concentration coursework, field training and an integrative project.
Up to three elective courses can be shared across both programs.
