Full Coverage: Hayes Hall chimes ring again

A story on WBFO-FM reports that after being silent for the past four years, chimes are once again sounding every quarter hour on the UB South Campus, restored as part of the renovation of Hayes Hall.

A front page article reports the chimes in the Hayes Hall clock tower are ringing again following restoration of the building’s historic clock, and quotes Robert Shibley, dean of the UB School of Architecture and Planning. “It set the pace of life,” he said. “You had, every 15 minutes, the chimes would go off, so you could set your watch by it. It was the background to your life.”
